PRP therapy was once reserved for recoveries in sports medicine but over the past ten years has moved into various other specialities of medicine due to the effectiveness seen when applied to other needs. Platelet rich plasma therapy, when performed properly for the right candidate, can be an effective tool in the fight against hair loss.

There is no scientific evidence that prp actually works for hair loss. It is pretty expensive too. On the other hand minoxidil does work.

My daily regimen is finasteride 1mg and minoxidil (both of which are FDA approved for hair loss). I've been doing this for 4 years now and it has worked tremendously.

It does make improvements for some people. Some are unable or choose not to use Finasteride or minoxidil. It is good to hear the meds are working for you. I’ve been on Finasteride since 2005, still seems to be effective.

Should the prp injections go all over the scalp?
When I had my 2nd session, which my first dedicated prp as the 1st was on the day of my transplant, I'm pretty sure they just injected it in to the recipient areas of my transplant. I would've thought it would be more on my main scalp to improve my native hair.
Thanks
