Recent Transplant - Unnatural Hairline - Temporal Angles

Hi, I had a small transplant a few weeks ago. It was done by a clinic that is well known and respected on these and other forums but unfortunately I think the hairline looks unnatural as they've blunted/rounded the temporal angles. Do you agree that the temporal angles look wrong or am I just being paranoid?

I think the angle should be more acute and grafts shouldn't have been placed in the highlighted areas:

(Not the best drawing but you get the idea)
What are my options to fix this? It's very early days at the moment so I guess I've got to wait for it to grow and see how it looks? Is something like electrolysis or laser hair removal an option to remove these grafts? I'd be very worried about scarring if they were punched out. I guess the only other option is to lower the whole hairline but that's not something I'm keen on...

Thanks in advance :)

Hi mate
It's still early days
Transplants do settle down after time
I've got the same issue
I had transplants 2003,2008,2010
And each transplant I had all put in a bad angles
Regards to ur issue I would just wait for the full 1 year to see how u feel
Then if u still feel u not happy yeah electrolysis would be a good idea as it's only a few u would need to remove to get the more receded maturer look of a hairline
Just try and be patient as I totally understand that u must be looking in mirror 24/7

Thanks Phil , yea I guess I've just got to be patient and stop over-scrutinising it... Just annoying that I think they def got the temple angles wrong, I didn't expect that from an experienced doc and kicking myself for not spotting it at the time. Sorry to hear about the issues you have with your HTs. Do you know of anybody that's had grafts removed by a doc in the UK by electrolysis? If it does come to that I think it would only be a small amount so would rather not have to travel..

Have you got back to the clinic about not being happy with how it looks?? Was it a London clinic??

have you also got pictures of straight after the HT as it hard to see without the hair grown in

I actually went to a beauty clinic near me who tried electrolysis
It didn't work but I wasn't sure she was using the correct strength so I gave up on that idea
Be a good idea to ask ur surgeon if they could remove by a small fue punch or if they do electrolysis

I haven't gone back to the clinic yet, I was interested to see if others on the forum thought the angles looked off or if I was just over analyzing it. I was going to wait to see how things progress before going back to them, they're abroad (but a reputable clinic).
I think it looks worse from a complete side-on view, I don't think it looks as bad in these pics taken on the day:

Yea I was wondering if it was an option to just go to a local electrolysis place. My other worry with that option is if they zap the singles on the current hairline I might be left with doubles/triples in my hairline so it could look pluggy. I think I need to wait a few months until I can get an idea of what the end result might look like. If I'm not happy I'll get in touch with the doc. But if electrolysis is a straightforward option then it might be easier to get somewhere local to do it rather than getting on a plane to the clinic. It's probably only the last cm or 2 at the end of the hairline that I'm unhappy with.

I’d wait to see your full result like Phil mentioned I think this will give you a better picture on the naturalness of the hair line

Yea makes sense, hopefully I'll be happier with how it looks once it grows. Nobody looks good a month after a HT

Looking at ur pics u just posted it doesn't look that bad
I see what u are saying though,u would rather have the more receded appearance in the corners at it gives a more natural look
Remember u will always b ur worsed critic,u see what other people dont,
But totally I see what u mean, only cos I've had a transplant myself.
The good news is its easily fixed and there's only a few that need to be removed if u are not happy after waiting.
It's all good mate, trust me, wish I was in ur situation

Thanks Phil, really appreciate the honest feedback :) . I'll give it a few months, see how good the growth is and if there are issues with naturalness hopefully it's only a small tweak to fix it....

How old are you?
Do you have a before picture of your hairline?
It looks as though you have decent temple points which are quite prominent. The design might blend in giving you a more youthful look. If the angle was more acute the difference from your temple points to your temple corners might give the appearance of a more receded mature look.
I think this will possibly look ok once grown out providing the grafts are fine single hairs in the area of concern.
If it does bother you once grown out they could possibly be punched out to create an acute angle.

I'm late 30s, these are before:

Temple points are still pretty good.
I think even if you look at a person who isn't receding you still find an acute angle, rounded off it just doesn't look natural:

Ur hairline and temple points looked ok before any surgery mate
Just my opinion
Know u can't say who the surgeon was but where did u have it done in the country as I can get an idea

Did you discuss and see the hairline design prior to proceeding with surgery?

I think it's receded more than those before pictures show, looks better from some angles than others.
It wasn't a UK clinic.

Yea I did discuss it with the doc, but I don't think the design before matches what I got:

Design Before.jpg Design After with line.jpg

The angle of the pics are slightly different but the before doesn't have the weird curves down at the sides which is what looks unnatural, especially when viewed from the side. I don't think enough attention was paid to view the design from a side-view to ensure it looked natural from all angles, and like most people naturalness was pretty much the most important thing to me.

I haven't gone back to the clinic yet as wanted a second opinion on whether others though it looked unnatural. I was going to wait for it to grow as I expect they'll tell me to wait to see the result before jumping to conclusions....

You're totally right, obsessing ain't gonna change anything. Best ignore the mirror for 6 months and reassess then

There are a lot of hairline designs like yours that turn out good.
I can see the difference though between the pre op hairline and the alteration.
Even though you have to wait it out let the clinic know as they’ll be able to explain why it is different.
