Here are a couple of pictures taken outside in natural light. My hair seems fine which I`m hoping will thicken up over time.

Deffo dont need any hair transplant surgery
Options are
#Finesteride tablet
#Topical finesteride
#Minoxidil if u can be bothered to apply daily same goes for topical finesteride cos it starts to be a pain to apply every day
Ur hair looks fine and straight looking so hair transplant sometimes look stringy looking and u might end up looking worse ie
Stringy fly away hair
If it was me get on finesteride thicken up the hair with it,get a nice haircut say short back and sides bit longer on top
Use a clay or paste to style, maybe sprinkle some hair fibres on top
My opinion that would be easiest way

Hi Phil. I`ve been on Finasteride for 12 months now which grew my hair back preventing the need for a hair transplant at this point in time. My hair is fine and thin which I`m hoping will thicken up. A transplant will be in the future if I go down that path.

Oh ok that's good that's its thickened things up
U are on the right path
Here is my pics had 3 ops
Total of 3200 grafts I was told
Didn't go on meds cos I had sides
Had strip surgery as well
My angles are really bad
Wish I could go back to not having any surgery and just gone on meds
So be careful

My aim is to shave hair off and have smp to hide everything
It's my only option for me I think

I`ve read your posts and seen your scars and the hairs growing out at wrong angles. They look crap to be honest but you know that already. I`m glad I got good advice on here before getting anything done. Shaving down could work for you. I have shaved down for years but when I started to see bare skin on my crown IA wasn`t happy, hence why I ended up here.

Glad u have read the posts
I'm just on here to help guys not rush into things and take it slow
Yeah deffo look crap but the surgeon who did it says its a really great result
?????
As I've gotten older baldness dont effect me as much now
Much rather have a bald head than a crap hair transplant which I've got ha
Yeah shaving down is way forward now but even scalp micropigmentation is a mine field
Good luck with it all mate and if u do decided to get transplant
Research research research

Yes I will be careful before deciding anything. I cross check everything these days with plenty of research.
I hope you can get fixed. Be it shaving down with SMP or having a repair. Anyone can say your scars are good must be a few slices of bread short of a loaf.

Why can’t you say names if the service/end result is bad. If I paid money for my HT and it turned out bad I’d be naming and shaming the doctor all over the place. You are paying for a service/medical procedure if this is bad or fails due to the surgeon incompetent or shoddy work I think you have the right to warn people about this HT company/dr

I hope you can be fixed. It`s not fair someone can do this to people and say it`s a good result. I think I know who did it from reading your posts. One to avoid I think.

Your hair looks very good, Finasteride has definitely helped you. The crown swirl has returned. Your hair may continue to thicken up as is. In the meantime, you can search for hair thickening or volumizing shampoos that do a good job.

Thanks bm I'm very happy with how things have turned out. What are the decent shampoos that don't carry a ridiculous price tag?

Hi @Kevboy , a hair shed can take a few weeks to calm down before the hair growth cycle gets back into a more normal pattern again. MSM, Biotin etc are commonly used by many as supplements to use alongside treatments such as minox and finasteride. As a regime they can help overall with general health of your hair. MSM for example is a sulfur-rich compound with anti-inflammatory properties. MSM sulfur can form bonds essential to strengthening hair and influencing hair growth. Hope your hair shed recovers soon, best of luck.
Always good advice from the lovely people at the HairDr

Your hair loss fluctuated during your periodic updates with some months looking better than others. This will be attributed to the shedding phases you went through as your body adjusted to the medication. The main objective of preventing more hair loss is your end goal which you seem to have achieved and there is a chance you will see more improvement as time passes. A very useful thread and well documented thread this is.
