Fix bad FUT Procedure

Hi All,

I had FUT procedure before 1.5 yrs and left with 40 CM long scar (attached pics). Also my goal of hair transplant is not met. I am looking for a recommendation for my case so that I can get my scar fixed and have my life back.

I am interested in getting inputs and option for my scar repair and whom do you think is best for scar repair in USA. My scar is 40 cm in length and varying width from 4-2 mm. I have attached pics and would like to know about your opinions on fixing it. My goal is to get it fixed such that it will be less noticeable when I shave my head due to religious activities. Surgeon did a bad job on scar by taking large strip and getting into unsafe donor region (beyond ears) as you can see from pics.

Not considering: SMP, as my scar is white in color compared to surrounding skin and will be easily noticeable when i shave my head.

options: 1. FUE into scar, but I will lose 400 grafts due to scar size. 2. Scar revision, worried about scar extension after procedure.

Sorry to hear you`re not happy with how your hair transplant turned out.
Is it just the scar you`re not happy with or is it with how your final growth turned out?
How many grafts did you receive and have you any immediate post op pictures?
Your donor scar is not too bad, obviously, it's more noticeable at its widest points. Having it excised out will carry the risk of it stretching. Because you wish to shave your hair down I would not go this route. I would go for FUE into the scar and maybe use body hair rather than scalp hair or a combination of both. In my opinion, this has the least risk and the highest chance of success for your particular goals.
What area of the US are you located in?

I had my scars repaired by Dr Ron Shapiro... He did an amazing job for me.
I agree with Bm that FUE into your scar would be the best option with you wanting to have your hair short... Bm had his scars repaired at Shapiro Medical as well.

There is definitely a risk of the scar stretching if you did a full scar revision but the risk is less if you removed the scar in the sections that’s 4cm wide. You could do a FUE combination of beard and scalp hairs into the scar as an option.

i dont know why people still use FUT its an old methode . now best one its fue or dhi , it cost you no scars at all
