Electrolysis Removal After Bad Hair Transplant

I had a hair transplant in Istanbul, Turkey the 9th of september. It was a botch job in the temple area and I need to remove grafts with Electrolysis(blend method) you can call it "needle laser". It is supposed to be pretty much scar free.

I will remove all thick doubles and multiples for the first rows, also the ones who are stacked on my native hair.

Hi Digi23. Thanks for documenting the the start of this journey to remove these multi graft units. Hopefully, it’s a shorter timeframe than anticipated and you end up with a clean slate to have finer singles placed to create a natural look.

Session 2, one side is starting to clear up and I can now see my existing hair again which was under the transplanted multiples.

We also started small on the other side to remove the thickest ones.

Becareful who you choose to do it, it needs to be someone very experienced. I would say you should checkout someone who does the Electrolysis blend method if you want to do it. If you can, it would be better to move the grafts by extracting them, what I do now is just wasting them, but in my case its maybe 200 grafts total I need to remove to get a better look.

Yes its getting better and better, what I am unsure of is how many I need to remove.

No she is not wearing magnification glasses, she is using a surgical lamp who really shows the area in detail, then she takes small steps each session is only 30 minutes, she removes about 20-40 grafts each session now and she is trying her best to remove the thickest ones. I am printing a paper on the area then I put dots what she needs to remove, which she is using as a reference.

That’s good she is taking small steps and you’re fully involved and aware of the grafts that are being targeted.
Has she or any HT doctor said how long you have to wait after the treatment has finished before you can have another surgery to add the singles?

I need to remove 500 hairs from the hairline, but none of the clinics ive consulted with offer it - and like you have suggested it would be better to punch them out and save them. But apparently due to the higher transection rate/risk of scarring to the hairline all have said it will take multiple surgeries to perform (which realistically i cant afford nor want to go through).

So while I agree it might be better to extract and ultimately save the grafts, economic and time wise this seems the easiest/smartest approach. But Ive struggled to find any examples like this online so thanks so much for sharing. You can already see the improvement

Yes I was in the same situation, a Dr told me some ridiculous amount for fixing this in 2 surgeries for me, it would be 2 years until we would be done and he wanted 12,000 euros and also the high risk of noticeable scarring from punches got me worried so I rather remove as much as I can now then plant singles, I am still probably in need of a touch up to add some density anyways.

I am located in Sweden, I dont know where you are from but if you go through with this do alot of research as I said, it should be scar-free if you do not get inflammed hair follicles which is a possibility from this method, it will be a little dot scar around the removed follicle if this occurs. It should not occur at all but there is a small chance on some follicles.

I think I will be fine removing just the thickest ones, keeping alot of finer doubles. I also need to remove some with the wrong angles even though they are on the finer side.

Between the sessions it is 2 weeks so I grow my hair out during this time and can see how it looks abit inbetween. I will remove all thick ones closest to my forehead so we can transplant fine singles in the first line.

I counted both temple areas and they were 350 on each side, I think maybe 100-150 needs to be removed on one side, maybe 50 on the other side.

No but it takes about 2 weeks for the skin to heal after each session, so its not a long wait. It just irritate the skin for a small amount of time, last time it took some days and the redness subsided pretty fast.

I am in talks with Dr Bicer who helped me, she said I could start doing laser after 6 months, I started a little bit earlier, at 5 months, 99% redness had dissapeared so should not be a problem to start small and remove them. She wants me to remove the thick ones and the ones closest to the forehead so she could plant singles there.

I think I might book with her, Dr Bicer have been really supportive and answered my questions and what I need to do. I am looking to add some more density to the hairline and some singles in the first line in the temples when 12 months have passed.

It sounds like you are directing her and highlighting the areas which to remove. Did she suggest that or was that you wanting to be in control of the procedure

But she is very caring and she thinks its fun to do something new aswell, this is not a typical job shes doing with me.

2 weeks is pretty quick healing. I’ve spoken to Dr Bicer a few times, she has a very caring attitude for patients and her work looks very good. Once you have this refinement work done I think you’ll be happy with your hair.

200 is 200 too many…..shame they have to be removed this way but the good thing is you are moving forward to the result you should have had in the first place.

Actually I answered here that she did not wear them, but she actually does. The reason is that I lay there and she gets ready so I dont really see when she put them on. But I asked her in the middle of the procedure today and she showed herself.

I told her I have thought about buying her magnification glasses, there are some for about 100-200 euros that seems ok. She was using 2x magnification and she had different lenses where she could change if neccesary but she liked 2x the most.
