So I came across an ad on insta (usually an instant red flag for being a hairmill) that had me intrigued. It's for this clinic in Tijuana Mexico that's about as close to the border as possible, and is charging between $3750 and $4200 USD for transplants.
As far as cost and convenience goes, it's pretty appealing to me. Another plus is that they claim that the surgeries are performed 100% by the doctors with nurses being present to assist the doctors.
Also, on their page, it shows quite a few results that appear to be very realistic hairlines. That being said, most of their surgeries are incredibly conservative in terms of grafts and how much skin they cover.
So I've got doctor-performed surgeries, a low price, hotel accommodation, and good looking results. This must be too good to be true, and it's got my spider-sense tingling.
I think I've only ever seen one independent review on forums (it was on reddit). I see some google reviews that laud the place, but I have no idea as to the veracity of these reviews.
The doctors names are Dr. Karla Saldivar, Dr. Aydeth Olvera, and Dr. Eduardo Moreno.
I can't post a link but just google up HairFix Mexico on google or Instagram to see results.
Is there something I'm missing because I'm new to researching clinics? What do y'all think? Is this legit, a decent budget option or somewhere I should avoid like the plague?
If it's a scam, are there other places in Tijuana/Other places in Mexico worth looking at? I know Luis Nader is EXCELLENT, but he's based in Reynosa which was listed as a DO NOT TRAVEL here by the US State Department. What are other good surgeons in Mexico?
