Anyone tried hair fibres with hairspray

I like to use hair fibres for the occasional evening out etc but have found the fixing sprays to be expensive;ss; anyone used simple hairspray to fix the fibres? does it work or does it have to be the proper stuff? as to be honest it stinks like plain old hairspray anyway.

Normal hairspray works just fine, try and get one that does not have a strong smell though.

I dont like the coconutty smell of the Nanogen holding spray, they should make it odourless.
