Your hairline is low and often called an adolescent hairline, a low apex and slightly rounded in shape. As we age, from teens into the twenties our hair natural changes, this can be in height, shape, texture or coarseness. This maturing of the hairline is perfectly normal and does not indicate the start of male pattern hair loss. That said, and especially if male pattern baldness is prevalent in your family the two can coincide.

A visible loss of hair at the temples, frequently forming a "M" or "V" shape, is a sign of a receding hairline. Additionally, it may result in thinning hair on the head's crown. For an accurate diagnosis and treatment options, it is best to speak with a physician or hair loss specialist if you are worried about a receding hairline.
