2700 grafts with Dr. Taleb Barghouthi (Vertex Hair Clinic)

I have been thinking of undergoing a hair transplant for quite sometime now. I am 48 years old and my elder brother had one done in Turkey with results that were not too encouraging few years ago. I have been putting it off for quite sometime. I live in Hungary and so I was looking to have it done anywhere in Europe or nearby. I admit I was not researching as much as I should, but a friend of mine had it done with a Dr. in his hometown in Amman and had really nice results. I arranged an online consultation with the clinic and spoke directly to Dr Taleb via Facetime. We went through the plan and the number of grafts and everything seemed quite encouraging. I must admit my friend made it a bit more encouraging as I knew he had it done there and he even offered being in Amman at the same time. I arranged with Dr. Taleb to have it done around New year's holidays. They had a 2 or 3 months waiting time which I thought was suitable for my schedule. He mentioned that the maximum of 2000 grafts is done per day and so I will definitely need it scheduled over 2 days.

I flew via Istanbul to Amman as there was no direct flight ( but I now understand that Ryan air is flying direct to Amman from many cities, including Budapest). My patient coordinator (Noor) was absolutely wonderful. She had someone picking me up from the gate of the airplane (literally), and walk me through immigration, transportation and all the way to my beautiful hotel near the clinic.

i was picked up at 7:45 the next morning. I finally met my patient coordinator Noor and she went through the paperwork/ payment etc (I paid 2.25 USD per graft and we had around 2700 agreed for the frontal and mid section areas). I was then asked to change into a gown. I met Dr. Taleb shortly after and I felt at great ease. He went through the plan, explained the meds and started drawing the hairline, took photos and shaved himself. I was worried about having the surgery looking obvious so I wanted a high hairline so nothing can be strikingly obvious. So we agreed on a conservative hairline. There was no other patient so I really felt I am cared for. The place is extremely relaxing and spotless too.
I must say I dont remember too much of the procedure itself. I was sleepy but aware of what is going on. I know that Dr. Taleb did all of my extractions. Few guys were over using microscopes for counting and checking. I had a short break and then a proper lunch break. After that, Dr. Taleb numbed the front area and made all incisions. Placing the hair then started with Dr. Taleb and another technician.
Day 1 had 1800 grafts done for the hairline and frontal area and Day 1 was the same with around 900 grafts done.

I am taking finasteride 1 mg since after the procedure.
My pics are shown from before surgery and recently around 8 months after. These are taken from my phone so excuse the quality. I am actually visiting my frined now and will be visiting the clinic tomorrow to check things out and to discuss doing a bit more in the front as I am getting a bit more greedy. Will keep you posted guys.

You look great for being 8 months into your transplant.
Do you think the Finasteride has created any new growth?

Nice natural result I think looking at the pics the Finasteride has certainly improved your donor quality.

Thanks @Kevboy and @bullitnut. Yes I think finasteride along with the HT certainly helped. My doctor certainly thinks so too. I met him last week for a follow up and he was happy with how things are progressing (so am I). I’m also looking at bringing the hairline down by probably one cm. I still dont want to over do it and I really need a natural age appropriate look so we agreed that 1-1.5 cm is more than enough. I have booked my date for January which will be a year since my surgery. I’m glad the dates worked out as I have a 2 weeks break during that time.
