What happens if I stop Minoxidil?

I have been on minoxidil 3 months without any change to my hair. Recently i have experienced heart palpitations after applying the solution which has me worried. What will happen if i stop using it? I do not want to risk my health!

At 3 months the minoxidil may just be starting to work. If you stop using it, any progress/gains made in this short time will be lost. Your hair will revert back to the pre stage. It`s best that you speak to a doctor if possible about heart palpitations. Once you stop using it these sides should go away.

I decided to quit using it before i was dependent on it. The palpitations stopped the following day. Not sure if i should try the oral version or give fin a try.

oral min goes systemic so if you experienced sides on the topical the oral version will likely be worse (at least that is my experience).

fin is a better hairloss drug because it is a 5ar inhibitor stopping 2/3rds of DHT. If you are worried about sides consider trying the topical version.

are these less chances of sides with topical fin? is it less effective? appreciate different for everyone

less chances of sides with topical fin, but not less effective as you are specifically targeting the areas. Dosages might be an issue to figure out as not everyone's balding areas are the same (a nw6 might need to apply more than say a nw3)

ok thanks for that. am not sure why wouldn't go down that route then? or is topical a pain to do every day

topical is sort of a new approach, and the reason why people dont usually bother with minoxidil is because they hate applying formulas to their scalp everyday. popping a pill is always easier
