Will I lose any hair with a 2-3 week break on Finasteride?

Hi! I've been on Fin for 5 yrs now.

Last few months I've been having anxiety. Not sure what it's from since I feel fine. It'a mostly been body anxiety too. (Tight chest, vibrations, feeling anxious in body).

Anyways I was wanting to take a break from Fin for 2-3 weeks to test if it was causing me my anxiety. Most likely my hair will be fine right?

Secondly, does fin cause body anxiety? I plan on going on it after again, but if it is causing my anxiety I will go on a lower dose like 0.5 instead of 1mg.

Mostly afrajd i'll lose ground. Although right now my hair is full, just don't wanna lose any after being on it so long!

Thannks!

DHT levels take a couple of weeks to go back up so I would say IMO you would be fine but beyond that it is not worth the risk. You could always try topical if oral does not agree with you.

I'm not planning on going longer than 2-3 weeks. Only taking a break to see if fin is causing me the anxiety.

Cause idk what else it could be! So after 14 days dht drops, but aslong as i start it up again within 21 days do you think my hair would be fine :)?

It is a difficult question to answer. If it were me I would reduce my intake by half to see if that makes a difference.
Receiving some medical advice/consult from a doctor would be the best option just in case there is something else causing it.

Generally taking a break for 2 weeks won't make a drastic change though medication should never be started/stopped on your own...so imho you should consult a doctor.

Doctor said it was fine taking a break. Said taking a break on fin for a few weeks won't matter.

But was just asking here too for other opinions, i've read on reddit people say usually 1 month is fine but 2-3 is when you start to lose ground.

I've been having body anxiety and i don't know what else it could be, i've been to the doc lots and have an app with a neuro but it takes up to 5 months. I'm just taking a break from fin now to see if it was causing me anxiety. 5 days off of it now, but still feel it. I will see how i feel after 2 weeks.

From my research 2 weeks to a month shouldn't do much.

I Have this issue but not on meds, been to Dr’s put on 24 hr ECG,bloods etc nothing shows up.
Told might be panic attacks but really not a panicky person the complete opposite in fact.
Dr years ago when it first happened said it could be Hiatal Hernia (which I have) so I Take Lansoprazol which stops acid entering chest cavity which helps I think but still happens every now and then, especially after eating.

So if you're concerned about any finasteride-related side effects, they'll typically stop within two weeks of stopping the medication. But you'll also stop seeing hair growth results after two weeks and may start to lose hair again.
