So after putting it off due to various circumstances I finally had my procedure a few weeks ago with Dr Ball and his team at the Maitland Clinic.
The whole experience from my first meeting with David Anderson all the way through to the aftercare with Karen has been absolutely flawless and I can't thank everyone enough. Everything was done incredibly meticulously, with each step of the process being explained which really puts your mind at ease throughout the day. All the staff are incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions you have.
Despite only having about 600 grafts implanted into a scar and throughout the hairline, I was still there from 7:30am until about 6pm which shows how commited the team are to getting the best result for their patient. Unfortunately the photos I have arn't particularly good as I didn't shave the recipient site but I'll post a 12 month update with the clinic photos which will hopefully provide a more accurate comparison.
The two photos below on the left and middle are about a week after surgery and the extraction site the day after surgery is on the right. My donor was pretty much back to normal by day 10 when I sent photos to the cinic.
I have got a mixed family history when it comes to hairloss with dad being a NW6 by the time he was 30 but both grandfathers had good hair into their 80s. I'm now in my early 30s, have been on Propecia for about 5 years or so and currently about a NW2 which hasn't really changed since I've been on the drug, so fingers crossed it will help me maintain what I have for a good few years.
