Do permanent/non permanent differ in depth in the scalp

This probably has been covered on here already somewhere but i'm still non the wiser so i thought i'd ask for clarification.
Obviously theres differences in ink types between the two procedures but what about depth?
So if the bulb of a hair may be found in the upper Subcutaneous Layer before passing through the dermis and the epidermis, where do the two types of SMP get tattooed to exactly, and do they vary between procedures?
Sorry if i sound stupid but does the permanent go deeper into the dermis and the temp go into just the epidermis? or does the permanent go deeper still?*nl

Hair bulbs are mostly located at about 4 mm

Our version of Smp places the pigments at 0,5 mm.

I don't think there is much difference in the application or depth, my concern with shorter lived pigments has always been how it looks when its half faded, lets say in 12 months after first application. I have seen very good photos taken shortly after application but would like to see someone after 12 months without having had a top-up.

In my opinion the depth does matter. But I agree with you that I also have seen many cases fade quickly. I have also seen cases that the dots bleed into one another when they are too deep.

In my opinion, the needle size, ink type, skin type, race, ingested intoxicants previous to procedure, aspirin, and especially experience all go into an SMP. :::C

Thanks Hairtech From the ingested intoxicants and aspirin comments am i right in guessing excessive bleeding can be a big problem during SMP? And can it effect the overall outcome do you think?

Its extremely rare that there is any bleeding during SMP if you are using small enough needles
