DHI query, FUE donor area and medication queries

Hello, I'm a low 30s male with MPB in the temple regions with potentially stabalised receding. Struggling personally with accepting how I appear and despite the usual comments that it doesn't matter, it so obviously does matter in many aspects of life to others and their judgement of you. It's easy for them to say yeah it's fine when they don't have to be concerned about it.

I've been quoted circa 2,000 grafts for treatment at a few clinics but have not yet managed to bite the bullet and go ahead for a few reasons.

Firstly are there any reputable DHI clinics around and has anyone had any experience with it? Seems that there is potential for this to be better than FUE however I saw a negative comment about choi pens.

Secondly, finasteride seems too expensive for upkeep at I believe 33 to 45 gbp per month. Not affordable for something which potentially has such severe side effects. Topical seems expensive too. Are there any genuine cheaper alternatives that actuslly work? Does a hair transplant affect the quality of your native hair. Recently someone commented that this is not mentioned but will happen.

Looking for more genuine comparable donor before and after pics at short length from 4, 6, 10 months on.

You can get Finasteride cheaper than the prices quoted. Best option is a prescription from your GP. Alternatives are online pharmacies such as Dr Fox or United who will be around 15 pounds per month.

There are two types of surgery.

FUT. they cut a strip of skin from your donor area.

FUE. Each Graft/follicle is extracted individually.

Dhi is a technique/name created by DHI Global.

DHi/implanter pens refers to the implanting part of an Fue surgery.

Hi @Bigmac , but I've recently seen a post around the DHI technique. So there seem to be other clinics who do it. Which is why I ask who does it? Thanks for the information on the finasteride. I doubt that GP's would prescribe it, surely you pay for it?

Some Gp`s do, some don`t.
Quite a few clinics now use an implanter pen to place the grafts. This implanter pen is what some clinics are referring to when they say they offer DHI.
