About hair transplant

Hello!

My first post here. I am planning to have hair transplant next year but I would like to hear your opinion first on my situation.

My hair loss started on my crown area only some 8 years ago. Within next few years I lost 30% of hairs on that area and until last year about 85-90%.

During this whole period my overall hairs on my head went from thick to thin (in volume/density). But no hair loss other than on crown area about the size of tennis ball.

However, from the beginning of this year I started loosing my hairs on the middle of my head too (about 50-60%). And now I guess it's approaching on the front of my head also. So overall I would need hair transplant from my crown to front.

One thing I have noticed is that where ever my hairs began to thin I first developed baby hairs on that spot. Like short hairs of 4-6cm in lengtg on my middle & front head.

Is this normal & do you think it would be beneficial to get hair transplant. Also, I don't want to use any medication like propecia/finasteride after hair transplant. Can someone please share their experiences?

Thanks!

You look to have very thick hair, and plentiful donor hairs. That should make you a good candidate. However, you should attempt to stabilise your hair loss first. Since it's recent loss, taking finesteride may even regrow some hair and make the surgery smaller or even unnecessary.

You're a very good candidate, 39 years old with healthy thick donor and not aggressive hairloss.
Roughly before taking your crown measurements, I would say you'll need about 2000-3000 grafts to cover the whole crown with high density result of 50-55 grafts per sq cm so it will blend homogenously with your native hair.

At HDC Hair Clinic our MDs: Dr. Maras and Dr. Christina specializes with crown jobs for a long time, you can check many reviews on us all over the forums, if you intrested in consultation with HDC please my WhatsApp +972526542654

I had myself crown procedures at HDC, and I use topical formula of Finasteride mixed with Minoxidil for 2 years without any side effects, in the past I had side effects from oral Finasteride, the topical formula helped my crown, you can see my review here:

Not using meds with the loss you have is risky.
Any gains the HT provides could be lost if your hair loss continues.
